Powerful Moment
But no one says, 'Where is God our Maker, who gives songs in the night,
Job 35:10
Have you ever felt all alone? Like no one cares about you or even notices you. I know I have felt like that many times. Have you ever seen the picture of a lonely cardinal sitting in a snow covered pine tree. (check out the month of December on the calendars we sold for youth group) It often seems like it would be way to cold for such a tiny fragile bird to survive, but by some miracle it is still able to sing a beautiful song and the cold seems to fade far away. Why does it sing? Is it perhaps because it is anticipating the warm weather once again or has it found the secret of being content that the apostle Paul talks about in Philippians 4:11-12 This is just like our lives as Christians in a cold and barren world. However, just like the Cardinal that is able to find strength to sing because of it's creators power we can find hope to sing through the same creator as well. The point of this message is that our God gives us Hope. If you think you are the only person going through the problems that you have You are very wrong. We have all felt alone and abandoned at one point or more in our lives. Our God is a God of love and will not make us go through more than we can bear. (1 Corinthians 10:13) Just like when we listen closely to the songs of the birds as they sing to us, we should listen to our Father as he speaks to us. I challenge you to wake up 5 minutes earlier each day this week and sit by a window. As you do this praise God for the first 2:30 minutes and then listen without speaking for the remainder of the time. Our God truly gives us something to sing about even in the night.( hard times )
