Hello everybody...boy, it's been a long time since I wrote one of these; and for that, I apologize. I'm glad God's love (the subject of this email) doesn't take breaks like I do from writing these devotionals. I want to thank James and all of our guest writers for continuing to send out messages. This message isn't going to be very long...because of the simple fact that God's love doesn't need very much explanation.
I participated in a chance of a lifetime convention this weekend known as Acquire the Fire. It must have been one of the most spirit influenced and life changing conventions I've ever taken part in. Hundreds of people committed their lives and recommitted their lives to Christ. But what I want to tell you about here is what influenced me the most.
Personally, at times, I love to be an intellectual Christian. I jump at the chance to use "big words" and I love sharing my personal knowledge. I never pass up the chance for a theology discussion. However, what I've come to realize is that, although I may be at times be able to answer questions for people or relay scripture in lamens' terms, I sometimes have trouble grasping the simple presence of God's wonderful gift to me. His Love. Jesus Christ DIED (repeat: DIED) on a cross for me approximately nineteen hundred and sixty-years ago. At Acquire the Fire, I simply basked in the wonderful presence of His love. It's so simple and yet...I will never fully understand it for the human mind cannot possibly fathom God's omnipotent miracles. Jesus Christ Loves me. God LOVES me. that thought oscillates throughout my mind time and time again. The more I think about it, the more I stand in awe. God loves me with and unconditional love. An unimaginable love. A love that truly is...one of a kind.
