A New Look
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has
gone and the new has come!"
2 Corinthians 5:17
Dear brothers and sisters I hope that you enjoyed the last message I sent to you. It was a simple message reminding us to just read the directions God has given to us. Today I have another simple message to share with you. God shows me these simple messages in my everyday life and I praise him for allowing me to share them with you.
I was coming home from a late baseball practice the other night switching the radio channels constantly trying to find the good songs to listen too like most 17 year old boys. As I was going through my regular stations I stopped on a song that had a cool tune. After a short time I quickly realized it was "From this Moment" by Shania Twain. You see I am not trying to sound sexiest but I usually switch stations when a women singer comes on. However, I had heard this song many times before and decided to listen to it for a minute. Right before I was about to change the station God told me to wait. As I continued to listen I realized that the singer was singing this song to her lover. God again popped into my head. I continued to listen more and more intently. Finally it hit me!!!! The only person I could imagine feeling a place like that in my life was my Jesus. I listen to the rest of the song and as I sang along with it I sang it to my Lord.
This simple experience showed me that as Christians everything that was before including or perspective of things must take on a whole new meaning. As Christians we must now look at things in a different perspective. God's Perspective found only through his Love. The life changing experience of salvation does not just mean no more cussing, sex, or drugs but that we should have a new perspective on all aspects of life that we were not able to understand before. I want to challenge all the readers of this message to begin to look at all things through God's perspective. This week when you are listening to the radio imagine singing the songs you hear to your Lover. "Jesus Lover of my Soul". You see now that God has began to open up my eyes I have began to realize everything in life somehow parallels God or the Devil. Nothing in this world is between it is either God or the Devil.
Lets look at this for a moment. When Shania Twain wrote "From this Moment" I can almost promise you she was not writing it for Jesus, but that is what is so neat about it. Without even knowing it she has wrote a song that seems to go perfectly with our Jesus. This was not by accident this was because God has a hand in everything that we do. That is why if we ask him to open our eyes and look at things in a whole new perspective we shall surely be blessed. Do not see God through certain things but see those things through God.
