Joy Is Constant
"Shout with joy to God, all the earth!"
Psalms 66:1
"The trees of the forest will sing for joy;"
Psalms 66:1
Hey everybody hows life treating ya? How's work and school? How's the family? So many questions we can ask one another, and surprisingly there are just as many answers to those questions as there are questions. Well what if I were to ask you " How's God? " What would you say? To me that answer is easy. He is Great! Isn't it encouraging to know our God never changes. I mean what kind of God would that be if he changed all the time. Change means something was wrong or was never exactly perfect in the first place. I don't want a God who changes and luckily I don't have one.
God is great. All the time. Not every once in a while when I am in a good mood. Or now and than when something goes my way, but all the time. That is why no matter what, I can have Joy. Man do I love talking about the JOY of My Lord! Besides his love this is my favorite topic to write about. " The Joy of the Lord will be my strength " Nehemiah 8:10
Joy is an outward display of God's love within us. If people don't know that you have some joy inside you it ain't doing you any good. Joy is singing when the rain comes down. Joy is knowing that the same God you fell in love with on the mountain top is the same God being silenced by this crazy world when it is hard for his servants to hear his voice. Because my God does not change. ( Psalms 40:2 )
Today in my daily reading, I read the book of Job. Many of us know the story of Job. He was a righteous, God-fearing man who loved the Lord so. Yet the devil still tried to win Job over. The big question is why did the Lord let the devil try to win Job over to evil. I don't claim to know why God does things but suppose, just maybe, the Lord knew that Job knew that his God does not change. The same God that was with Job at the beginning, when he was the richest man in that region, the head of a prestigious family, and lover of the Lord, was the same God when he was going through the storm.
I can not tell you why Job had to suffer but I can tell you why we can be joyful in our Lord. No matter what comes are way in life God does not change. His love is the same amazing love, his grace is still the undeserving gift of true life, and his forgiveness and mercy is still infinite. He is a rock!! ( Psalms 18:2 ) That is something to shout about.
You can ask yourself many questions? Why did God do this, or why are there bad things, or even why do I care? All that really matters is God cares, always will always has and he won't change no matter what you say or do about it. Joy separates us from the world. It allows others to see the power of God's presence, his spirit, in our lives. Joy truly comes in the morning.
" and tell of his works with songs of joy." Psalms 107:22
